Increased fire protection measures are particularly important in residential care accommodation. MCS undertook the installation of a Rockwool foil faced fire barrier to the loft space within Salisbury Care Home. Various gap seals and penetrations were also completed, the majority being pipework associated with the building’s sprinkler system. Sprinkler pipes were wrapped with intumescent strap, designed to close off in the event of a fire whilst maintaining compartmentation.
